What is Dental Crown?

A dental crown is actually a tooth - shaped “cap” that is placed over a tooth to cover to restore its shape, size, strength and improve its appearance.

Metals used in crowns include gold alloy, other alloys (for example, palladium), or a base-metal alloy (for example, nickel or chromium). The main disadvantage of these metallic crowns is ten appearance of metallic color so not suitable for teeth in the esthetic zone.

3. Porcelain-fused-to-metal Crowns

These are metallic crowns with Porcelain fused to match the shade of natural tooth.These crowns can be a good choice for front or back teeth.

4. All-ceramic or all-porcelain Crowns

These crowns provide maximum esthetic outcome but are not as strong as metallic crowns.

What is Dental Bridge?

Dental bridge is actually fixed, non removable prosthetic device that bridges the gap created by one or more missing teeth in the mouth. It is made up of two crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap and false teeth in between spanning the gap.
